If you’re going with the 18238, pay attention to condition such as over-polished lugs and stretch to the bracelet. If you find one in pristine condition it’s a gem. The 118238 is really nice as well. 18238 has the advantage of double quickest over 18038, but the only advantages of 18238 over 118238 which occur to me are a) the much wider choices available (in dials, bezels, and even bracelets), and b) the cost. Some minor style differences (brushed vs. polished lug tops, engraved rehaut, etc.), but nothing major.
With a 2023 126710BLNR I would be looking to trade into a really nice fullset 18238 (the double quickset is great) that is a full set with minimal wear. Or even a 118238 - this would likely take funds on top to get the 6 digit. The contemporary lineup has been given slightly chunkier lugs and is somewhat wider than previous iterations. The trimness of the ref. 18238, and its highly flexible President bracelet, means it is able to hug wrists of any size. One thing which has never changed with the President line however is the range of metals from which it has been made. The Rolex Day-Date 18238 measures 36mm in diameter, 12mm thick (excluding the Cyclops), and 43mm from lug to lug. The space between the lugs is 20mm.
